Sophina Jones

Sophina (she/her) is a mother, wife, sister, daughter, high school counselor, and a lifelong learner. Born and raised in Berkeley, California, she is the product of two incredible parents who—despite their own struggles—never failed to nourish her dreams and encourage her growth.

Project: Growing Empowered Minds in Spanish (GEMS Berkeley) is an initiative dedicated to building language confidence among Black students. By utilizing a culturally responsive curriculum, GEMS fosters a deep love for the Spanish language and empowers students to excel through inclusive, representative practices.
