P4L believes that Black parents have a key role to play in addressing structural inequities that impact their lives and that of their children and families. They can and should be at the forefront of developing demands, policy ideas, and mobilizing our communities for change.

Parenting for Liberation is a Black-led organization that supports and uplifts Black families. Over the last few years, Parenting for Liberation has been working to build the LA Reproductive Justice Coalition alongside Black parents, birth workers, doulas, lawyers, and systems impacted folks on policies to #keepblackfamiliestogether. 

In California, Parenting for Liberation co-spearheaded the statewide campaign Blind removals is a process where social workers or judges would decide whether to remove a child from their home without knowing the family’s race or other identifying information that could lead to bias.
